View MoreJiangsu Yinghong Transmission Technology Co., Ltd. supplies miniature thrust ball bearings under the YHU brand, with SUS440 as the high-hardness stainless material option. As a China SUS440 Thrust Ball Bearings manufacturer, we produce the shaft washer, housing washer, and ball-and-cage assembly as a matched set, or as individual components for maintenance programs.
This category is part of the Stainless Steel Miniature Thrust Ball Bearings line, alongside SUS420, SUS304, SUS316, and special stainless grades. The same material discipline extends through our SUS440 Stainless Steel Bearings and the rest of the Products line, giving one material standard across a machine.
Thrust ball bearings handle axial load in one direction and are not intended for significant radial load. The SUS440 version adds a hard, martensitic stainless contact surface for assemblies that must resist wear and corrosion in the same compact bearing envelope. Typical positions include adjustment spindles, valve actuators, indexing tables, robot wrist pivots, medical instrument mechanisms, semiconductor handling stages, and encoder or sensor housings.
SUS440 is martensitic, magnetic, and hardenable by heat treatment. In a thrust ball bearing, that hardness appears in the raceways and balls, giving a practical balance between mechanical load capacity and stainless corrosion performance. For more aggressive chemical environments, austenitic SUS304 or SUS316 is usually specified; SUS420 covers moderate-duty positions where cost is the deciding factor.
| Grade | Metallurgical Type | Best-Fit Condition for Thrust Bearings |
|---|---|---|
| SUS440 | Martensitic | Hard, wear-resistant raceways and balls for compact axial-load positions; magnetic. |
| SUS420 | Martensitic | Economical moderate-duty stainless option under less severe load and media conditions. |
| SUS304 | Austenitic | Non-magnetic with good corrosion resistance; selected when media resistance matters more than hardness. |
| SUS316 | Austenitic | Higher pitting and chemical resistance for washdown, marine, and more corrosive process equipment. |
We build the complete thrust set to the working envelope provided by the customer. Standard starting points include flat raceways, pressed or machined cages, open or shielded versions, and a matched ball complement. Miniature configurations can be varied in bore, outside diameter, washer thickness, ball diameter, ball count, and cage material.
The engineering decision starts with the direction of load, available space, mounting method, and lubrication plan. If the customer supplies a drawing or an existing sample, we validate the raceway geometry and ball complement before quoting, then return a proposed dimension drawing for approval. This configuration-first approach is the same one we use for SUS440 Flange Bearings and other stainless specials in the range.
Miniature thrust bearing capacity is driven by raceway hardness, ball diameter, and ball count. SUS440 gives us a material advantage in static load capacity for the same envelope compared with softer stainless grades. For each configuration, we state the static and dynamic axial load values on the dimension drawing once the final geometry is fixed.
Speed capability is generally lower than a radial deep groove ball bearing of similar bore size, because the ball set slides as well as rolls in the raceway. For higher-speed thrust positions we review axial clearance, cage guidance, and lubricant selection. For precise low-speed positioning, we control washer parallelism, raceway finish, and ball sorting to keep running torque and repeatability consistent.
The YHU production base in Jiangsu operates automated lines and a closed-loop quality system from incoming material to final packaging. For SUS440 thrust bearings, we verify material identity and hardness response, grade balls before assembly, and check raceway surface quality, washer parallelism, and axial clearance on finished sets. The group works from more than 15,000 square meters of factory area with 300+ sets of production equipment.
Yinghong is a National High-Tech Enterprise and holds IATF 16949, RoHS, CE, and SGS certification evidence. We can provide material certificates, inspection reports, certificates of conformity, and SGS test reports when the project requires documented compliance.
Miniature thrust bearings are sensitive to mounting. We supply recommended shaft and housing fits, shoulder dimensions, and axial clearance settings with the proposal. Protection of the raceway surfaces during installation is important, and the shaft washer must sit square to the shaft axis to avoid edge loading.
For automated production, we coordinate packaging orientation so the bearing set can be fed directly into robotic assembly stations. For maintenance, the main wear indicators are increased axial play, noise, and torque fluctuation. Because we provide washers and ball-and-cage assemblies separately, spare-part replacement does not require scrapping the complete mechanism.
To prepare a suitable configuration and quotation, we need application data that fixes the bearing envelope and confirms the material choice. The following inputs let our engineering team respond with a dimensioned proposal rather than a generic catalogue answer.
With these inputs we return a proposed bearing configuration, material specification, load and speed verification, and commercial quotation. Non-standard bore and OD combinations, special cages, or modified washer dimensions are managed as custom projects with drawing approval before production.
Yes. Send a drawing, sample, or the shaft and housing envelope details. We adjust bore, outside diameter, washer thickness, ball diameter, and ball count, then return a proposed drawing for approval before production.
SUS440 is the better choice when the limiting factor is raceway hardness and wear in a compact envelope; it is magnetic. SUS304 is better when corrosion resistance and non-magnetic behavior matter more than surface hardness. We match the grade to the load and environment on the inquiry.
Both. We supply the shaft washer, housing washer, and ball-and-cage assembly as a matched set. For maintenance, individual washers or the ball-and-cage assembly can also be supplied as spare parts.
No. A thrust ball bearing is designed for axial load in one direction. Combined or predominantly radial loads require a different bearing arrangement, and we note that when reviewing your application.
We provide material test certificates for SUS440, inspection reports, and a certificate of conformity. RoHS and CE declarations are available, and IATF 16949 evidence can be supplied for automotive-related projects.
